Module 9 · Lesson 5 of 5

Price your next film before you make it.

Plan every shot first, and your next film costs less and takes less time. Here you price it from your shot plan.

The steps

  1. Write the whole shot plan before you make a single shot.

  2. Keep it cheap: one place, short shots and the characters you already saved.

In Flow, your characters live inside your project. Make the next film in the same project to use them again.

Price it

  1. Count the shots in your plan. Multiply by 3, for three tries each.

  2. Multiply that by the credits one try costs. Flow shows the cost under Settings in the prompt box.

Example: 8 shots, 3 tries each, 20 credits a try, is 480 credits. AI Plus gives 200 a month, so you’d need about six days of daily credits too.

  3. Pick the plan that covers it, from the costs table.

Cancel what you won’t use

  1. Cancel plans you won’t use next month. Module 8 shows how to turn off renewal.

Count your time too

  1. Look at your time log. If your time is worth more, a done for you AI Trailer is $399.

Do this now

Price your next film from your shot plan.

Check yourself

  • Is every shot of your next film planned?
  • Do you know which plan covers its credits?
  • Did you turn off renewal for any plan you won’t need?

If any answer is no, go back over the steps, or look below.

Stuck?

I don’t know what one try costs.
In Flow, click Settings at the top right of the prompt box. For a rough price, use 20 credits a try.
It costs more than I expected.
Cut shots. Fewer places and fewer characters mean fewer tries.
I’m not ready to make the next one.
Price it anyway, then cancel your plan. Sign up again in the month you’re ready.
