Module 9 · Lesson 1 of 5
Add up what your film cost.
Credits buy seconds of video, minutes of voice or a number of songs. Here you add up what your film used and what it cost.
The steps
Credits buy seconds of video, minutes of voice or a number of songs. Every try uses some, good or bad.
You made two to three times more footage than you kept. That is normal, and you paid for all of it.
Count what you made
Open your Flow project and click Videos on the left. Count the clips.
To see the credits you used, go to one.google.com/ai/activity and sign in.
Google shows this page to people with a paid AI plan.
Add up the seconds you made. Divide by the length of your film in seconds.
Example: 22 clips of 8 seconds is 176 seconds. For a 60-second film, you made about three times what you kept.
Add up the money
Add your plan’s price and anything else you paid for, like a voice or music service.
Divide the total by your film’s length in minutes. That is what you paid per finished minute.
$4.99 for a 1-minute film is $4.99 per finished minute. The same $4.99 for a 30-second film is $9.98. Your number can be lower than the costs table’s, because the table counts only the credits a plan gives each month.
Before you post
Free plans usually add a watermark or don’t allow commercial use. Check your plan before you post.
Look for “commercial use” on the service’s pricing page.

Do this now
Add up what your film used and what it cost.
Check yourself
- Do you know how many clips you made for your film?
- Do you know what your film cost per finished minute?
- Does your plan allow commercial use?
If any answer is no, go back over the steps, or look below.
Stuck?
- The activity page is empty.
- Check you’re signed in with the Google account that has your plan. Tap your picture at the top right to switch.
- I deleted some clips, so I can’t count them.
- Guess from the credits used instead. Divide the credits by what one video costs.
- I can’t tell if my plan allows commercial use.
- Check the costs table on the course home page. If a service doesn’t say, ask its help desk in writing.
