Module 8 · Lesson 6 of 8

Make one music track for your scene.

Flow Music comes with Google AI Plus. You describe the mood in a few words, and it makes the track.

The steps

  1. Open flowmusic.app in your browser.

Google AI Plus includes Flow Music’s Starter plan. Flow Music is for people 18 or older too.

  2. Click Login at the top left. Sign in with the same Google account as your plan.

  3. On the left, click New session.

  4. In the prompt box, describe the mood in a few words. Add “no singing”.

Example: “Slow piano and soft strings, warm and a little sad, no singing.” Sung words fight the words your characters say.

  5. Click the send button. Listen to what comes back, and pick the track that fits your scene.

Download it

  1. Next to the track, click More, then Download, then pick a file type.

Name it “music” and keep its file ending. Save it with your shots.

Keep it under the voices

  1. The music sits under the voices. Every word must stay clear over it.

You set its volume in the editor in the next lesson: down until every word is clear.

  2. Play it on your phone’s speaker to check you can hear it.

Do this now

Make one track for your scene and download it.

Check yourself

  • Does your track have no singing?
  • Is it saved in the same place as your shots?
  • Did you play it on your phone’s speaker?

If any answer is no, go back over the steps, or look below.

Stuck?

Flow Music asks me to pay.
Sign in with the Google account that has your AI plan. The Starter plan comes with AI Plus.
The track has singing.
Make it again, and start the description with “instrumental, no vocals”.
The track is too short.
Ask for “a 60-second track” in the description. Or play it twice in a row in the editor.
