Module 8 · Lesson 8 of 8

Save your film, ready to share.

Export your film tall, for phones, and save it to your phone. Then watch it with sound before anyone else sees it.

The steps

  1. Export it tall: 1080 by 1920. That resolution is sharp on any phone.

    • iPhone

In CapCut, tap the size setting at the top of the screen and pick 1080p. Then tap the export button.

    • Android

In CapCut, tap the size setting at the top of the screen and pick 1080p. Then tap the export button.

    • Computer

In CapCut, click Export and set the resolution to 1080p. In DaVinci Resolve, set it on the Deliver page.

  2. Check it’s tall: 1080 across and 1920 high, never the other way round.

Get it onto your phone

  1. Save it to your camera roll.

    • iPhone

CapCut on the phone saves it to Photos when the export ends.

    • Android

CapCut on the phone saves it to Gallery or Google Photos.

    • Computer

Send it to your phone with AirDrop from a Mac. Or upload it to Google Photos and open it on your phone.

Don’t email it. Email often blocks or shrinks big videos.

Watch it on your phone

  1. Watch the whole film on your phone, with the sound on, through the speaker.

  2. Check three things: every word is clear, the music is still there, and nothing is cut off at the edges.

Keep every file

  1. Make one folder for this film, named with its title.

  2. Put every file in it: each shot, the music, the scene and the finished film.

You’ll need these files if you fix something later.

Do this now

Export your film and watch it on your phone with sound.

Check yourself

  • Is your film tall, 1080 by 1920?
  • Did you watch it on your phone with the sound on?
  • Are all its files in one folder?

If any answer is no, go back over the steps, or look below.

Stuck?

My film came out wide, with black bars.
Your editor project is set to wide. Change its shape to 9:16 (tall), then export again.
It looks blurry on my phone.
Export again at 1080p. Check you downloaded each Flow clip at 1080p too.
I can’t find the film on my phone.
Open Photos (iPhone) or Google Photos (Android) and look at today’s photos and videos. From a computer, check it finished sending.
