Module 11 · Lesson 2 of 5

Practice posting privately, step by step.

Every app posts the same way: video, cover, caption, AI label, post. Practice with a private post first, so nobody sees a mistake.

The steps

  1. Every app follows five steps. Upload the film from your camera roll. Pick the cover picture. Write the caption. Add the AI label. Post.

  2. Practice with your own film, or any short video on your phone. Post it so only you can see it.

Apps change their screens often. If a button has moved, look for the same word nearby.

TikTok

  1. Tap + at the bottom. Tap Upload, pick your film, then tap Next.

  2. Tap the cover to pick the picture people see first. Write your caption.

  3. Tap More options and turn on the AI-generated content setting. Under who can watch, choose Only you. Tap Post.

YouTube

  1. Tap + at the bottom, then pick your film from your camera roll.

  2. Add a title. Set who can see it to Private.

  3. Answer Yes to the question about AI or altered content. Then tap the upload button.

Facebook

  1. Tap Reel or the photo button where you write a post, and pick your film.

  2. Tap the audience button. It may say Public or Friends. Choose Only me.

  3. Turn on Add AI label if you see it, then tap Share or Post.

Instagram

  1. Tap +, then Reel, and pick your film. Tap Next.

  2. Instagram has no “Only me” for Reels. Go through every screen, then save it as a draft instead of sharing it.

Tap the back arrow and choose Save draft. A draft is only on your phone.

Check it

  1. Open your profile and find your practice post. Check the cover, the caption and the label.

Do this now

Post your film privately, or to “Only me”, to learn the steps.

Check yourself

  • Did you pick a cover picture?
  • Did you turn on the AI label?
  • Is your practice post set so only you can see it?

If any answer is no, go back over the steps, or look below.

Stuck?

I posted it for everyone by mistake.
Open the post and tap the three dots. Change who can see it to only you, or delete it.
My film looks cropped.
It may be wide. Post wide films to YouTube or the Facebook feed, or export it tall again.
I can’t find where to pick the cover.
Tap the small picture of your video on the last screen before posting. Most apps open the cover choice from there.
