How the loop works

The same four steps in whichever assistant you connect.

    Set up the book

    Tell the assistant your premise and length. It creates a real project — title, target, chapter plan — not a blank prompt box.

  2. 2

    Write the first signal

    Drop in a paragraph or a few lines for the chapter. Your words are the seed, kept exactly as you wrote them.

  3. 3

    Hand off the drafting

    The engine finishes the chapter in your voice around your words. Sharpen it lighter or stronger until it reads right.

  4. 4

    Approve the chapter

    Accept when it’s good and move to the next. Nothing counts toward your book until you say so.

  1. 1.In ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors and turn on Developer mode.
  2. 2.Choose Create, paste the Server URL below, and authorize when prompted (sign in with your BookWriter account).
  3. 3.In any chat, click + → Developer mode → BookWriter.
  4. 4.Say “Start a new book.”

OAuth handles sign-in — no token to paste.

Claude

Pro, Team, Max · Custom connector

  1. 1.In Claude, open Customize → Connectors → + Add custom connector.
  2. 2.Name it BookWriter and paste the Server URL below.
  3. 3.Click Connect → Approve. Claude authorizes over OAuth — no token to paste.
  4. 4.Start a chat and say “Start a new book.”

Connects from Anthropic’s cloud, so it uses this public https URL.

Cursor

Settings → MCP, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

  1. 1.Open Cursor → Settings → MCP and add a server with the Server URL below.
  2. 2.For one-click setup, open your connection page and use the Add to Cursor button.
  3. 3.Enable bookwriter in the MCP list.
  4. 4.Ask Cursor to “Start a new book.”

Cursor authenticates with a token — grab it on your connection page.
