The reliable workflow

Open the exact book
Use Open BookWriter or the Export book action from the connected card, then confirm the title.

Choose Export
In the Library book controls, choose Export. A connected completed-book card can open this dialog directly.

Review the preview
Check chapter order, headings, cover, author name, and optional front and back matter.

Choose a format
Download EPUB for ebook readers, PDF for fixed-layout review, DOCX for word processing, or Markdown for portable source text.

Inspect before publishing
Open the exported file and confirm formatting and retailer requirements before upload.
Free and Connect Plus export
The current saved manuscript can be exported manually in EPUB, PDF, DOCX, or Markdown. Exporting does not erase, finalize, or lock the project.
What Pro adds
Pro supports 3 unique immutable publication snapshots per billing period with versioned publishing metadata and automated EPUB/PDF rendering. Same-snapshot rerenders and repeated downloads do not consume another package.
Manual export versus a publication snapshot
Manual export reflects the current editable book. A Pro publication snapshot freezes the explicitly approved manuscript and metadata so later renders are traceable to that exact version.
No retailer submission
BookWriter prepares files. The author reviews and uploads them through their own retailer or publishing account; BookWriter does not guarantee marketplace acceptance.

Do I need Pro to download my manuscript?
No. Manual EPUB, PDF, DOCX, and Markdown export is available on every plan.
Does exporting finish or archive the book?
No. A manual export does not change writing status. Explicit completion and Pro finalization are separate actions.
