BookWriter keeps the approved state in sync

Blueprint saved

Verified state

Prose stays in chat
Versioned saves
Safe recovery
Finalization always waits for an explicit author approval.

A stateful writing room

The conversation can wander. Your book does not.

Steering Connect separates creative conversation from durable book state. That makes long-form work clearer, safer, and easier to resume.

Your voice becomes a contract

Point of view, tense, rhythm, diction, dialogue, emotional method, and hard avoids stay explicit across chapters.

Every chapter has a packet

ChatGPT receives the approved beats and continuity needed for the current chapter—without exposing your manuscript in a card.

Corrections are versioned

Replace an earlier accepted chapter without silently moving the writing position or confusing what comes next.

Uncertain saves recover safely

If a connection drops after a write, BookWriter checks current status before a retry so success is never mistaken for failure.

Bring the assistant you prefer

Use the writing model and account you choose. BookWriter remains the durable source of truth for the book.

Finish with an immutable snapshot

Review first. Then explicitly freeze one version for EPUB/PDF rendering, with free rerenders of that same snapshot.

The author stays in control

Two saves that mean two different things.

Accept current chapter

Save and move forward.

Use it for the complete expected chapter. BookWriter accepts the prose once and advances the cursor to what comes next.

Replace accepted chapter

Correct without losing your place.

Use it only for an earlier accepted chapter. The correction becomes a new version; the current cursor does not move.

Simple monthly plan

Write broadly. Finalize deliberately.

Unlimited writing under fair use
3 unique publication snapshots per billing period
Free rerender and re-download for the same snapshot
Up to 50 active projects
Versioned chapter corrections
EPUB and PDF preparation

Fair use excludes automated bulk traffic, resale, account sharing, and service substitution. Publishing platforms make their own acceptance decisions.

Steering Connect
$4.99/ month

For authors who bring their own chat assistant and want BookWriter to hold the book together.

Read billing and fair-use details

Privacy and publishing trust, plainly stated.

Cards show status, never manuscript excerpts. The connected conversation receives only the bounded writing context needed for the task. Finalization freezes only the version you explicitly approve.

Questions authors ask first

What is Steering Connect?

Steering Connect is BookWriter’s chat-native plan for authors who want to write with an external AI assistant while BookWriter holds the approved blueprint, voice rules, chapter position, corrections, and publication state.

Does BookWriter generate the chapter prose?

No. In Steering Connect, prose is written in your connected assistant and passed to BookWriter only when you ask to save it. BookWriter preserves accepted state and continuity.

What does unlimited writing mean?

You can keep writing and saving chapters for active projects under normal author use. Fair-use protections prevent automated abuse, resale, and unusually high machine-driven traffic.

How do publication packages work?

The plan includes 3 unique immutable publication snapshots per billing period. Rerendering or downloading EPUB/PDF files again for the same snapshot does not consume another package.

Can I correct an accepted chapter?

Yes. A correction creates a new version of the earlier accepted chapter and does not move the current chapter cursor.
