Direct answer guide

Accept the current chapter safely

Know when accepting a chapter is an ordinary save and how to verify advancement.

Direct answer

Direct answer

Use accept_current_chapter for the complete prose of the book’s expected current chapter. It is a non-destructive forward save: the chapter is accepted once and the cursor advances once.

The author’s save request is confirmation

When the author explicitly asks to write and save the expected chapter, no replacement confirmation is necessary.

Verify the result

A successful result identifies the accepted chapter version, next chapter, current word totals, and next packet pointer.

If the client shows a generic error

Ask for book status before retrying. A server commit can succeed even when the client loses the final response.

Frequently asked

Is accepting the current chapter destructive?

No. It saves the expected chapter and advances the writing cursor; it does not replace an earlier accepted version.
