Direct answer
BookWriter assembles a bounded packet for the current chapter from the approved blueprint, voice contract, recent accepted state, open threads, and exact chapter objective. Older packets become stale when relevant state changes.
Packet before prose
The assistant should read the latest packet before drafting. That is more reliable than asking it to remember an entire long conversation.
Catch-up is a recap, not the plan
catch_me_up provides bounded recent continuity. It does not replace the active packet or authorize a different chapter.
Stale means stop and refresh
If a packet version is stale, load current book status and the newest packet instead of drafting from the old one.
Frequently asked
Does the card show recent prose?
